How long do I need to keep records for?

I am a new tax client, what do I need?

Initially we will need your previous year’s tax return for both Federal and all states. For tax prep, we generally need all of your tax forms such as W-2s and 1099s for income and mortgage statements, medical expenses, property tax, and charitable expenses to get the individual return started.

I am a current tax client, what do I need?

Same as above but we don’t need your previous return. We also have tax organizers with your previous year’s information that makes it easy to get everything together.

What are the tax consequences of selling property?

Please schedule an appointment for tax planning when you are selling any property at a gain. We can help you plan and inform you of any exclusions that you may qualify for.

Do you need receipts?

It depends, we definitly need letters for your contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations and Foster Care Organizations for the Arizona tax credit. All other receipts we will request if needed. 

How long do I have to donate to a Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) or Qualifying Foster Care Organization (QFCO) for the AZ tax credit?

You have until the 15th of April for the previous tax year. For example, you can donate until April 15, 2021 to get the credit for the tax year 2020.
